Making Positive Moves website 1 year on

MPM celebrate MPM birthday
By: Charlotte Haith

It is our birthday! It has been one year since we launched the Making Positive Moves website. Over the year we have been getting lots of feedback about the website. We wanted to share some of this feedback with you and share some of the changes we have made.

It has been a year since the Making Positive Moves website has been live for all to access. The purpose of the website is to provide as much helpful information about supporting someone with a learning disability through the moving process. This means making sure the website is accessible, has the most up to date information and ultimately that it is useful.

To do this we rely on the feedback of those who use it, you! Since the website was launched, we have been speaking to individuals with a learning disability, parents, carers, and services to get feedback. We wanted to know what you liked about the website and what was helpful as well as what might be missing from the website or needed to make sure the website is useful for everyone.

We have loved hearing your feedback. It is, of course, brilliant to hear what is good about the website. It has also been great hearing your suggestions on what could be changed or added to the website.

We would like to share with you the feedback we have had so far and what we have changed based on what you told us.

Things you suggested that we are working on:

There were some suggestions and comments during the feedback on areas that are a longer-term plan for the website. We want to recognise that we really do listen to your feedback and although some suggestions may not have been completed during this review period, we are still working in the background on all the feedback we get.

Although there is a video of someone sharing their experience of moving. It was suggested that it would be helpful to have several videos which highlight a variety of experiences and across ages. We think this is a great idea and is something we hope to bring to the website soon.

Finally, we received a comment about the general experiences of supporting someone with complex needs and the many barriers the individual faces within society to engage with their environment and as such a website. This is an area we are incredibly conscious of and was at the forefront of our mind when designing the website. We openly acknowledge that not everyone will be able to access the website independently. However, we hope that with the right support they can still benefit from the information and tools within the website. We will continue to keep this limitation in mind and do our utmost to try and provide a website that can be accessed by as many people as possible.

We would like to thank everyone who has taken the time to look at the website and give their comments on it. We are always working to make the best of the website and for this we rely on your feedback. If you have any feedback on how you have found the website, or if you just want to get in touch, we would love to hear from you!
